Oppression in the U.S. Church
This is the sort of thing that appalled me about the U.S. Church — the way some of the ‘culture warrior’ bishops are driving a ‘coach and four’ through even the most basic of human rights. It is no wonder people are leaving the Church in droves.
Miami archbishop warns employees against supporting gay marriage, even in a tweet
(RNS) As Florida became the latest state to legalize same-sex marriage this week, Miami Archbishop Thomas Wenski sent a memo to all church employees reiterating that any expressions of support for gay marriage — even if it’s only a tweet or Facebook post — could cost them their job.
